Schooling as a topic never fails to keep us engaged. We all have ideas, opinions, memories and thoughts. We discussed all those of Rajini’s, and she was like a tennis ball…bouncing back as hard as you throw. It was riveting!

She is a thinker and a doer. She is a preacher and a practitioner. And she has been at it for almost three decades, starting unprepared, equipped with an attitude to fight it out, and seasoned through experience. With no particular career plan, but a clear desire to be independent, she finished her masters in electronics and joined a job in Hyd with an option to go abroad. Then came marriage and Pollocks. She barely was familiar with her new family and the city when she had to join her husband in running the school. She took to it like water to sponge.

Her approach as an administrator seems to have been considerate, informed, firm, and decisive. The school system grew multiple fold, adapted new curricula, and have been experimenting with pedagogy all along. We discussed tuitions, pedagogy, different school boards, tests, learning methods, teacher salaries, and school progress reports.
