Life is a string of experiences. Some we like, and some not so much.
Some of us feel loved and supported, and others don't. Some of us travel far and see the world, and others stick to the same town all their lives. Some eat a variety of foods and others stay within their comfort zone. Some of us like our jobs, and others quit and start fresh. Through it all, we live our lives, always doing the best we can, and hoping for the best. Regardless of our feelings about each moment of each day, they are all our experiences and collectively make us who we are.
Been There, Done That! is a forum to share our experiences and reflect upon them.
These are stories of people in Visakhapatnam. Just like everyone else, they are people living life as it happens, and taking it in stride. They made somethings happen, and sometimes things happened to them. Through it all, they grew as individuals. Explore their experiences and enjoy their inspiring journeys.
This forum is apolitical, accessible, and accepting.
Life is interesting and complicated. We all contain multitudes. Been There, Done That! is a safe space for people from any background or orientation. It is open for anyone to attend, with no charge.
Host: Diwakar Vadapalli was abroad for almost two decades after graduating from Andhra University. He was a community planning consultant, capacity development specialist, social worker, research consultant, professor, program evaluator, restaurateur, incubation manager, and now the CEO of a for-profit social enterprise. Along the way, he earned a Ph.D. in social welfare from Case Western Reserve University, and taught public policy for several years at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Vizag, the city he left two decades ago, also moved on in many ways. A lot changed, inevitably. He has been on a journey to rediscover his home, and understand it better. Through Been There, Done That!, he is learning a lot, from one person at a time, from a wide range of backgrounds and orientations, all of them residing in Vizag.
